Simple Field Access Rights

Hi Ragic team,

We understand this kind of functionality can be done with a mixture of a temp field formula and conditional formatting, but the suggestion below does a few things:

  1. We will not need to make so many multi versions of fields.
  2. This security can be applied before going in the record edit mode
  3. It makes it extremely simple to implement field based security

At first, it can be “Field available for user group” and then in phase two it can be “Field read-only for user group”

I agree, this would be a huge improvement for Ragic.

Another approach that I thought of was per Sheet Range Defined Access Control which I’ll post as a separate suggestion.

Range access could possibly be easier to implement than field level and could be faster to use.
