Text Grayed Out When Hovered Over

A couple of days ago, an update apparently made it so that the text in a field is changed to a light gray color when I hover a mouse over it. This is VERY ANNOYING. I often hover over a field to point it out to myself visually and it changing to this color makes it impossible to read. For instance, just now I was comparing a client’s demographic information with a handwritten form he had filled out to make sure they matched.

I’ve attached 2 screenshots to show what I mean. Please change this back.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. We have modified the display of locked/read-only fields when hovered over. This helps fields with background colors to show if it is not editable when hovered over. We will see if more modifications are necessary once we have more feedback from other users.

It looks like it’s a bit darker but it is still hard to read. I would much prefer a box around the field instead of changing the color.

Could you please help submit a ticket through “Need Help” at upper right corner in your database > “Support Ticket”, filling the information about this issue with your sheet/record urls and screenshot for us to look into with and see if we can find a better way to handle it?

We have applied a new update on the locked/read-only color hint, could you please check and see if it’s better now?

It is better than it was, yes, as it is now dark enough to read. However, I still wish it was a box or something else instead of changing the color.

As people usually don’t directly associate the display of a box (border) with ‘read-only,’ I’m afraid this won’t be our consideration. Thank you for your understanding.
