Please allow record scrolling to the next record when in edit mode. You can then still prompt if the user wants to save the record. Should this be the last record in the list then you can open a new record.
This will save a lot of time when entering new records. 
Not sure how this would save time, do you mean that when you click on next record button, the system gives you an option to save the current edit and go to the next record at the same time?

Yes that is what I mean.
I also on a separate note I thing experienced users would like to set a personal preference to not be prompted each time they exit an unsaved record or designed sheet. The prompt get a bit much when you know what you are doing.
