Import Data without Headers Template

Not sure if this is actually a bug or needs to be a Feature Request. When performing an “Import Data From File”, the data I’m importing doesn’t have a Header row, so I uncheck “The first row is the header”, set it to “Import to Subtable” and then select the column assignments, all like we normally do, except we normally have headers, so we keep that checked. But with the The first row is the header unchecked, there is no option to save the configuration as a template before importing.

Previously we’ve been importing data with a Header row, but due some inconsistencies with the names of the headers we wanted to try without headers. Normally, after assigning all the settings and before importing, there is an option to " You can [save the current import configuration as template] so that users can directly apply it when importing files with this format (same file type, same header row) in the future.", but that isn’t appearing when there are no headers.

I normally would have expected that in leu of actually header names that the system would default to using the column letters as the “headers” and everything would work equivalently. Maybe that’s what is happening on the backend, but for some reason it’s treating it differently in regards to being able to save the configuration and that is definitely inconvenient.

Hi,

This is not a bug, but rather the system behaves differently because there are no header row names. As a result, when “The first row is the header” is unchecked, the option to “Save as Template” does not appear.

We greatly appreciate your feedback. Our development team is currently working on addressing this issue, and we will notify you once the adjustment has been made.

Thank you again for your understanding.

Hi,

Currently, even if the “First Row is the Header” option is unchecked, you can still use the “Saving Import Configuration as Template” feature! However, please note that since the import settings do not include header rows, the system cannot verify the column headers. Therefore, before saving it as a template, please double-check that the fields are correctly mapped to ensure the accuracy of the imported data.

Thank you for your previous support and feedback, and feel free to reach out if you have any further questions!
