Hire Management System

Hi all, looking at trying to integrate a hire management system, which will consist of:

  • an Assets sheet, which will include a Asset Quantity field.
  • an Orders sheet, which will include a subtable to add multiple assets, the date they hore out, the duration or a return date, a qty hire field and a formula field.

The requirement I need is for the subtable on the order page to complete the formula field, which would display the qty of the item available, based on the hire date.

For example, if I have 50 chairs to hire out, and I have 30 going out on Saturday to Monday, when I enter an order for Sunday, I want to know that there is only 20 available.

Firstly, can this be done, and can I get as much help as possible to set this up? I’ve managed through time and research to set up some pretty neat things in Ragic the formula I need here is just beyond me though.

I think your use case would work better with Ragic’s inventory management system as it modifies the inventory of an asset after clicking the respective button in the outgoing stock sheet. For more details about this template, please refer to this document.

This template works well if you’re selling items, but not for Hire, where items are sent out, and then returned, and stock counts need to be adjusted based on the dates entered.

In that case, you may have to use the equipment management template. However, this template does not support quantification. Therefore, you would have to modify the designs of the sheets in the template such as adding quantity fields and the check-out and returned action buttons (adding the quantity fields to be updated in the buttons).
