Barcode Labels "Invalid Input"

I am trying to create a Label Report to print barcodes but the barcode always displays a generic barcode with “Invalid Input” in red over it.
I have tried using a numeric field in the table with the Barcode box ticked. I’ve also tried making the field a Barcode Field (Code 128). Neither works.

Could someone describe how I might setup a field in a table and then a label report to print barcodes please?
