AI Action Button trigger - Custom Message

I wish to be able to use the new AI action button, to review data, provide notes to team - but present the user a “Pop-up” message with its findings of the prompt, it doesn’t need to comment / or store this data as a field, or store as a comment… how hard would this feature be? @jeff_kuo

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing this idea! We’ve discussed it with Jeff, and a pop-up message that shows the AI’s findings to the user who clicks the button, without saving anything to a field or comment, is something we can support. We’ve logged it for development and will update this thread once it’s available.

If you’d like to share the kind of scenario you have in mind (for example, a check before submitting a record, or a quick summary before someone takes over a case), it will help us make sure the feature fits real use cases. Thanks!

As a sales person -

I want to click a button and have it check various fields reference cell A3 and determine the order type.

My agent prompt would be something like: “Determine if the order is a yard special or contract in cell A3.”

If the cell in A3 is “Yard Order” then check to ensure certain fields are not blank, if blank notify user which fields are not blank, or remind them of certain nuances based on cells’ information.

Is this what you are looking for?

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing the details! Your check follows a clear rule: if the field in A3 is “Yard Order”, certain fields must be filled in, and the user should be reminded about anything that’s missing. Because the rule is fixed, you can set it up now with conditional formatting, without waiting for AI. For example, when the order type is “Yard Order”, you can have the fields meet the not empty check so the record can’t be saved until they’re filled in, highlight them with a color so users can spot them quickly, or show a message reminding users of the nuances for that order type. Note that these messages are static, so each message needs its own rule that decides when it appears.

If some of the nuances are hard to write as rules and need the AI to read the record and judge for itself, that’s where the new AI pop-up message will help. We’ll update this thread once it’s available. In the meantime, we’d suggest setting up the Yard Order check with conditional formatting first. If you run into any questions while setting it up, feel free to send us a note at support@ragic.com and share the sheet URL as well as what you’d like the result to be. We’ll be happy to take a look.

Yes - conditional formatting would work for SOME of this, but there is broader written guidance, AI would help with… blanks wasn’t the best example.

thank you! i will standby for an update.
