Security warning using own domain

I’ve set up a CNAME record and listed a company domain. But when we try to access Ragic with this domain, the browser gives a big warning about server security.

NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

I can clearly see the wildcard Ragic SSL certificate. But because of security warning, the browser lets us go no further.

Is there a way around this “insecurity” issue so that our company can use its own domain. I’m sure others are doing it.

Because the HTTPS certificate for “staff.narroway.net” is not installed on our server, browsers will not be able to verify the certificate of our domain to your domain. You will need to use http:// instead.

This is the same situation with Google Apps, as Ragic uses Google Apps internally for mail and calendar. We can only use an http:// custom domain URL to link to our Google Apps, not an https:// one.

So, ultimately, it would be best not to go with our domain and just to access through ragic.com/… so that we can stick with https.

Thanks for the explanation.

Yes, there are some security limitations for https, and it seems not appropriate to give out your ssl certificate.
